Madison & Tyler's Wedding | Highland Loft | Elgin, IL
When I booked Madison & Tyler, she informed me that her colors included lilac (great choice, also MY favorite color) and that they were incorporating purple everywhere. It came as no shock that they were totally pumped for their engagement session at Lilacia Park in Lombard. About a month before the wedding, she mailed me their invitations (I ask all my couples to do this) and she gave me everything. This bride was a girl after my own heart. Deep purple and gold invites, save the date cards, and ((((swoon))) custom wax seals as part of their flat lay. My creative heart was dying to start shooting and we were still 4 weeks away from their wedding.
Fast forward to August, and she was not kidding – purple invitations, purple flowers in her bouquet, purple napkins at the reception – my senses were on overdrive, and loving every single detail of this wedding! We arrived to find Madison had her best guy on her side of the aisle standing up for her, and yep – he donned a purple tie. I love when couples mix up their bridal party to include the most important people in their lives. She told me they had been friends since middle school.
The sweetest moment for me came when Tyler's dad gave his speech at dinner. Tyler's mom had passed, but his dad had kept a photo of Tyler from when he was a kid - wearing little red cowboy boots and carrying a teddy bear. Dad presented Madison with these exact items at dinner, and I think we all wept. It was such a sweet gesture that his dad held on to those items for so many years and would now pass them to (hopefully) his grandchild.
Congratulations, Madison & Tyler. Watching you two walk hand-in-hand around the reception and how you adore each other with huge smiles, I can already count on wishing you many, many, happy anniversaries in the future!
