Elvis & Jonathan's Wedding | The Highland Loft | Elgin, IL
Elvis and Jonathan were our first groom/groom couple, and they quickly became one of our top five favorite couples of all time. Their wedding, held at the Highland Loft in Elgin, was a beautiful blend of heartfelt emotions, cultural traditions, and vibrant celebrations, making it an unforgettable event for everyone involved.
The ceremony began with a touching moment as Elvis was walked down the aisle by his aunt. Both grooms, visibly emotional, were surrounded by their incredibly supportive friends and family, creating a heartwarming atmosphere of love and unity. The event was officiated by Aurora Divine, a well-known drag queen in Chicago, adding a unique and fabulous flair to the occasion. The presence of multiple friends and members of the drag community made the celebration even more special and inclusive.
Elvis and Jonathan's wedding was nothing short of spectacular. Elvis looked stunning in his Louboutin shoes and a dapper black tuxedo, while Jon embraced his heritage by donning a traditional Filipino barong tagalog. The couple beautifully blended cultures by incorporating several Filipino traditions into their ceremony while also making the bold decision to forgo some traditional American customs, crafting a day that was uniquely their own.
One of the most emotional highlights of the day was the first dance shared by Elvis and his aunt. The love and connection between them moved many to tears. Another poignant moment came when Jon's mom serenaded the crowd after dinner, creating a tender backdrop for Jon and Elvis as they danced together.
