Melissa & Adam's Wedding at Home | Burlington, WI
Melissa & Adam said "I do" at their home in Burlington, WI in July. With a completely renovated shop as their reception hall, a white party tent for their nuptials, and attended by humans and 4-legged friends alike, they picked the ideal spot for saying their forevers – at home.
I got the pleasure of working with Diane (Melissa's sister) who was the wedding planner. I always suggest having some help with your wedding, whether it be coordinating vendors, day-of-wedding coordination, or full-on wedding service to help check off all the to-dos on your wish list, and Diane was an exceptional help leading up to their big day and the day of the wedding.
There are always big firsts at so many weddings we cover, and this was had many of them. The couple's two dogs were part of the wedding march, and without a doubt made an impression at the family formals. The flower "girl" headed down the aisle tossing petals and handing out mini bottles of liquor, and her husband was the officiant, who took his title VERY seriously, donning his official badge and all.
The reception was fun, yet emotional as Melissa's dad had passed shortly before their wedding day, but was honored in the best way with a photo montage during dinner. People partied well into the night, and the dance floor stayed hopping all night long from the start.
Congratulations, Melissa & Adam. I was a bit unsure how a wedding at home could be epic, but you two managed to blow my preconceived notions out of the water and threw one of the best parties on the block!
